Berlin-Buch allows people to have a look at the everyday life of scientists: This is where people can visit the Life Sciences Learning Laboratory to see what it is like to be a gene researcher and carry out simple experiments involving gene technology.

Berlin-Buch is also involved in the educational and training aspects of health and the biosciences.

The Training Center for the Health Professions is Germany’s largest educational facility for the medical teaching professions and care personnel. The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) runs training courses for biology technicians.

Buch is the ideal place for young scientists to obtain practical experience. Students of the natural sciences can carry out research in the institutes to gain diploma and doctoral qualifications. Specialist physicians are trained in the Buch clinics in conjunction with the Medical Faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin, the Charité.
