The
Berlin-Buch campus is a unique site for medical research and development in Germany. The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), founded in 1992, as a model for clinical research from three institutes of the GDR Academy of Sciences, was the initial driving force for the development of the campus into a research and biotechnology site of supraregional significance.
Today, on the 32 hectare site which can look back to a long scientific tradition, there can be found in close proximity institutes for basic medical research, research clinics and biotechnology companies. Buch's researchers, doctors and entrepreneurs are collaborating in the development of new treatments and diagnostic procedures for cancer, cardiovascular and nervous system diseases.
A modern
Congress Center with integrated laboratories on the campus offers multiple opportunities for scientific interaction.
