Berlin-Buch is still part of the city but it is also in the countryside. To a great extent it consists of woods and partly open countryside.

The nature reserve Barnim begins in Buch, it is an attractive leisure site, located in the North and extending as far as Liebenwalde and Eberswalde.

Buch offers lots of opportunities for leisure activities. Lectures in the Buch clinics, Jazz breakfast in the KunstPause Restaurant, historical presentations by people with a shared interest in Buch or the annual Summer Festival are only a few examples.

The concerts in the Buch Schlosskirche are famed, well beyond the borders of Buch. Each Autumn sees the Bucher Church Music Meeting.

In Buch and Karow there are 15 sports clubs and swimming pools.
